Givenchy Spring/Summer 2010 Sneakers

Spring/Summer 2010 sneaker collection by French high fashion brand Givenchy. The brand worked on a low top and a super high top for the season. Both come in gold metallic, white and black. The most interesting design feature of the two silhouettes is probably the open construction, making them suitable for the hot summer days.

For most of you, these two styles might be a little too extreme. We think that that is exactly what high fashion should be doing. Rather than copying and getting inspired by athletic footwear brands, we want to see them go further, of course only in terms of style, we do not expect the technology to be up there. The design should be innovative and frankly it should not be for everyone. After all nobody feels like spending above 500 USD on his sneakers and then seeing tons of other people in the same ones.

I decided to do a post on these because i see a lot of females wearing these boots now. But I don't think i would ever own a pair because i don't think they would look nice on my feet

Dr. Martens releases its Spring/Summer 2010 catalog, and inside we get a good impression of the feel of the collection. Consisting predominantly of the popular eight eyelet boot in interesting new colors we get an immediate understanding of the direction the English label wanted to take. From soft tones to more extreme hues the vastness and diversity of the collection provides for a large selection. What caught my eyes were the rose patterned boots coming in three different styles, as well as the black, brown and grey mids.

Finding its way back to the sneaker market, Android Homme drops the Android Homme Propulsion II Zinc Metal shoes. Going back to the hi top design they first dropped in 2009, the Propulsion II now comes in a shiny new zinc color. The upper is made of leather, and the white mid sole grounds these in true sneaker style.
